Observation

An emergency exit door in the kitchen was locked from the inside with a padlock during child care hours. The emergency exit pathway in the Free Choice Room had a pressure gate obstructing the exit. Currently there is not an emergency exit from a napping/play room which leads directly to the outside. Provider proposed using a window on the west side of the room. However the window does not stay open and can fall on a child when it is opened. There is a second window on the outside one would have to open (or the second/outside window must be kept open during child care hours. The window sill on the outside of the house to the yard measures 60 inches high. The proposed emergency exit window has obstructions on the outside which would make it impossible for children to safelty get out in case of an emergency. There is a fence, a fence panel, two swimming pools and a metal object where the landing would be.
